Faces of Indonesia
Indonesia is one of the most disarming and unforgettable destinations I’ve ever visited. Inspired by the book Faces by photographer Serge Anton known for his striking black-and-white portraits. I created a series of authentic portraits during my journey through Java and Bali, capturing the people I met along the way.
Many locals feel a bit shy in front of the camera: their skin weathered by sun, hard work, and time. But that’s exactly where I see beauty. Their wrinkles hold stories; their eyes carry a quiet depth that speaks louder than words. I chose to convert these portraits to black and white to highlight the purity of their features, their textures, and their soul.
